Recovery & Therapy
Recovery is where feeling better and measurably recovering diverge most. Both matter, but they are not the same claim, and the difference decides whether a device is worth its price.
Recovery is the area where subjective improvement and measurable improvement diverge most sharply. Feeling better after a modality is a real result and worth something on its own terms, but it is not evidence that the underlying adaptation improved - expectation, ritual and simply resting for twenty minutes all produce it reliably.
So separate the two when reading claims. Does the manufacturer cite a measured outcome - performance restored, soreness reduced against a control, an inflammatory or autonomic marker moved - or does it cite how users report feeling? Was there a control group at all, given that the sham condition is unusually hard to construct here? And is the protocol in the study the one the device actually delivers, at the same duration, intensity and frequency? A modality can be worth owning for how it makes you feel. It should just be bought for that reason knowingly.
